Kenny Bishop Preparing Debut Release With Daywind Records

“This project has been in me for a while. Not long after I escaped my rebellion, I developed a real desire to do something tangible for God. I also felt the need to let those who've held me in prayer for so long know that their faith has made a difference. So, we've been in the studio singing about grace, mercy and forgiveness. It's been a renewal of sorts for me, and even before the recording is made public, it has already encouraged healing in the lives of some who've been involved with the production,” stated Kenny.
“More than anything, my heart knows grace right now. It is the thing that assures me of God's ability to completely receive me as a broken human and love me as a man on the mend. With all of the things that a disoriented wanderer accumulates, He didn't ask me to do anything but come home. I did, and I'm determined to see that other prodigals I've met along the way are aware of His love for them, and learn the way back.”
“It had been a while since I'd been in a recording studio as an artist. Woody knew that, and he made sure the atmosphere was comfortable and productive. So many of my singing and musician friends are a part of this recording. Even with my crazy schedule in the Kentucky Governor's office, I've made an extra effort to be in the studio when they've come in to do their parts. I'm honored they would participate.”
Best known for his years traveling and singing with his family group, The Bishops, Kenny has added his voice to top charting songs as “You Can’t Ask Too Much Of My God,” “Go Reach The World,” “Lazarus Come Forth” and many others.
Kenny’s project, Kenny Bishop, can be found in your local Christian bookstore on May 9, 2006 and will be distributed through New Day Christian Distributors.

Jeff & Sheri Easter Will Not Be Appearing at NQC 2006
In a newsletter to their fans this morning, Jeff & Sheri Easter explain why they will not be appearing at NQC 2006.According to Sheri Easter, "There have been many speculations about whether we will be attending NQC this year. Contract negotiations do take time and in October, Jeff & I began negotiating with the NQC board about our 2006 dates. The board agrees to pay artists a maximum amount. Jeff and I have never requested this amount or have ever been paid this amount. We've always taken much less than the majority of the top groups in Southern Gospel, simply because we could afford to accept less. Jeff & I believe in giving. With fuel increases, the cost of the booth, payroll for 8 employees and taking a weekend off during September, our expenses were exceeding our pay, so we asked for an increase, but still less than the maximum paid to other artists, and the board declined. After 30 years of attending, we will surely miss being with all of you at NQC, but we do have several families counting on us for their livelihood and we have to consider them first. There are no hard feelings, in fact, the majority of the board are very good friends and will continue to be. Thanks for all your support and the best way for you to get us back to NQC for 2007 is to let the board members know how much you miss us being there."
