Spirit of Christmas Tour Plays to Packed Houses
Woody Wright and Stephen Hill concluded their fifth annual Spirit of Christmas Tour in West Virginia on Dec. 20. This year the duo played to several packed houses in seven states. "We were blown away with the crowds this year. The Rantoul, Illinois concert and the Roanoke, Virginia show were the biggest ones, but we had great attendance just about everywhere this year. With no promoter, record label or booking agents to help, we feel extremely blessed to do well over a dozen concerts each year. Our presentation is a little different, so I guess that is what helps encourage folks to bring us back year after year."The pair performed classic Christmas favorites as well as their original songs that have been featured on the Gaither Homecoming Christmas videos through the years. Stephen Hill wrote "Five Little Fingers" and "Look Who Just Checked In" - which is also included on the latest Gold City release. Woody's "Come and See What's Happening In The Barn" has become a Christmas favorite, and is featured in many Christmas choral collections.
The talented singer/songwriters work together in other months as well, and will play regular concerts this year in Indiana, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and overseas in Holland this summer.

"I am so excited about the anticipation and comments we've received from everyone. This has got to be the best project I've ever been a part of from the musicians, to the producer at Mansion Racords, and everyone involved. We've finally found a home in Mansion Records with a company that believes in us and has the desire to see our ministry expand," states Ben Scroggs.

Alden Toney Legacy Continues

The construction and dedication of this house of worship were made possible by a generous gift from Dr. and Mrs. Jim Gills. Alden was formerly the administrator for Dr. Gills’ medical practice. Dr. Gills stated he wanted to do something to “have a lasting impact in the lives of others to represent Alden’s life and testimony.”
Vine Records Signs The Nelons

Their new release, You Are God offers powerful songs of worship that target the church. "We've always felt comfortable in the church. Now that we've been leading worship at our home church for a while, we knew the time was right for a new musical direction for The Nelons," states Jason Clark, producer and tenor for The Nelons. When not leading worship for Grace Baptist Church in Powder Springs, GA, The Nelons are visiting other churches. They couple with praise teams and choirs across the country, giving the entire congregation a corporate worship experience.
"Although this is a new venture for this legendary group, fans will not be disappointed. You will hear that same tight harmony that has made the Nelons a household name amongst Southern Gospel fans," states Wayne Haun of Vine Records.
The first single, "We Speak Your Name" is already in heavy rotation in heavy markets across the country. "You Are God" is scheduled for a January 29th release on Vine Records and will be distributed by Crossroads Entertainment and Marketing, Inc.
Dallas and Shelly Rogers Join HisSong Staff

Dennis Humphries stated, "Our previous driver, Drew Darling, resigned in October to spend time with his girlfriend and plan a wedding. Our tenor singer Adam Elrod has been driving and doing a great job until we found the right person to get us where we're going. It's tough when someone who is on stage singing every night has to drive the bus, run sound and sing. We are excited that God sent Dallas & Shelly our way. We are also looking forward to Shelly working in the HisSong office in Smyrna, TN. Dallas has been a friend for several yrs."
The Rogers just moved last week from Pensacola, Florida to Nashville, TN. HisSong is leaving tonight (Wed) for Texas & Louisiana and this will be Dallas Rogers first week with HisSong.
HisSong just released a brand new CD titled On The Way Up and is now available at HisSong concerts, online or Christian Bookstores nationwide or wherever Christian Music is sold. HisSong records on the Vine/Crossroads Label.

Ernie Couch and Revival Record With George Beverly Shea

"As we began working on this project we tried to think of which singer best exemplified the great hymns of the church and our immediate and unanimous conclusion was, George Beverly Shea" said group owner, Ernie Couch. Ernie added,"We were delighted to have this unique opportunity, and I believe we are only the third quartet, behind the legendary Statesmen and Blackwood Brothers, to have recorded a song, for specific release, with Mr. Shea."
Jason Couch, manager for EC&R said, "George Beverly Shea at ninety-eight is still ministering and sharing the gospel through song. His voice is as strong and commanding as ever. I especially enjoyed listening to Mr. Shea share about highlights of his lengthy music career. Most will remember his more than fifty years affiliation with the Billy Graham organization, dating back to the 1940s. Through the years Bev has recorded over seventy albums, the majority for RCA records. He introduced the world to "How Great Thou Art," and composed the music to "I'd Rather Have Jesus," and I understand that he is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as being the individual who has cumulatively sung in live performance to the most people, some 220 million! What an incredible person, and yet, what a humble, and Godly man."
"It was an amazing time, one I will not soon forget," injected bass singer, Matt Chaffin. "After the recording session was finished, we all went out to eat. When it came time to say grace over the meal, Mr. Shea asked that we join hands around the table, and then he sang the blessing. It was one of those strangely wonderful moments that gives you chills. I want to encourage everyone to be watching for this new hymns project. Pick-up a copy, and enjoy listening to this icon of gospel music."

The Glovers Expand Ministry Outside of Traditional Church Walls

In the coming year, the Glovers will be expanding their ministry to include speaking engagements at not only men’s, women's and couple's events, but specifically to Pregnancy Crisis Center events across the country.
The Glover's offer a unique experience by tying their songs such as, "Hurtin People," "Hidden Secrets," and "Saving My Life" (specifically about abortion) in with their speaking engagements to lift individuals (especially in the church) out of their darkness and into the healing hands of Jesus.
The Glovers have learned over the past couple of years how critical it is for church congregations to receive the healing they need as individuals before they can truly minister to those outside the church.
“This aspect of our ministry – helping people come out of their darkness into the saving light of Jesus – has had such an amazing impact on us personally,” mentioned Adam Glover. “Moving into this next area was a very obvious step for us.”
Most recently, the Glovers were invited as guest speakers for the LifeHouse Pregancy Crisis Center at Murray State University in Kentucky for their annual fund-raising banquet. From that experience, The Glovers will be the guest speakers and music for the Westside New Beginnings Jail and Prison Ministry on February 10, 2008.
Kathy Glover of the Glovers said, “God has just been using this area of our ministry so much lately. We just have to stand back and let him do his thing. We are so in awe of where he has taken our ministry over the last couple of years. We can’t wait to see where He takes it this next year.”
Kathy Glover will be the guest speaker along with recording artist Sharron Kay King at another women's conference entitled "Chatter Matters- Matters of the Heart" at the Bruce Convention Center in Hopkinsville, Kentucky on February 9, 2008.
For more information regarding The Glovers’ ministry surrounding abortion and God’s hope to those affected by it – visit their site at http://www.thegloversonline.com.
The Glovers recently wrapped up recording vocals for their upcoming national release. The new album, titled One Good Reason, was recorded at UpFront Studios in Nashville, Tennessee and features the engineering talents of Terry Thompson.
One Good Reason will feature new songs by some of Southern Gospel’s most popular songwriters such as Chris Binion, Zane King, Del Way (who penned the Glovers’ breakout hit “Hurtin’ People”), and Eric Horner. Also, Kathy Glover co-wrote two songs for the project – “Hidden Secrets” (co-written with Chris Binion) and “Saving My Life” (co-written with Zane King). Both of the songs deal with Kathy’s personal testimony and ministry surrounding abortion.
The group’s new single will be hitting radio programmers’ desk in the early part of 2008.
Fans are also encouraged to visit the group’s MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/thegloversonline.

Bill Gaither, Gaither Vocal Band & Signature Sound Added To 2008 NQC Talent Line-Up

According to NQC Vice President, Clarke Beasley, The Gaither Vocal Band and popular quartet, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, will present the Together Showcase on Thursday, September 11. “We are thrilled that Bill Gaither will be a part of the 2008 National Quartet Convention, and we look forward to the performances of the Gaither Vocal Band and Signature Sound,” Beasley stated. “As thrilled as the NQC Board is to have them, I know our attendees and supporters will be even more thrilled be able to see these phenomenal artists on the NQC stage once again.”
Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, who are among the artists regularly featured on the highly successful Gaither Homecoming Tour, joined forces with The Gaither Vocal Band earlier this year to produce a DVD/CD recording, entitled Together, which was released in October, and has already boasted sales figures exceeding 50,000 units.
In addition to Thursday afternoon’s Together Showcase, both The Gaither Vocal Band and Ernie Haase & Signature Sound will also be a part of Friday night’s concert line-up on September 12 in Freedom Hall. “It’s no secret that I love Southern Gospel Music,” Gaither commented. “It’s an important part of my childhood and my musical heritage, so naturally there are few things that warm my heart quite like hearing four singers and a piano rev it up! In my mind, the only thing better than a great gospel quartet is a whole week full of them! So I’m looking forward to the opportunity to participate in the National Quartet Convention with great anticipation. It is always a wonderful time to hear lots of great quartet music and connect with old friends. This year will be great fun, as well, because The Gaither Vocal Band will be joining up with Ernie Haase & Signature Sound to sing some of the songs from our Together project, which truly fulfills my belief that two quartets are better than one!”

Open Letter From Scott & Tessa Thomas
It has been a joy and a pleasure to be able to travel the last seven months and sing on the Southern Gospel stages. So many people have commented on how glad they were to see Tessa and I together on stage. It was a joy to see people I (Scott) had not seen in so many years, and we were thankful that we caught up with a lot of past friends, including those in the industry as well as fans.In December 2006, Ricky Atkinson asked us to help him in his ministry; however, we were reluctant to accept the positions due to our own ministry and family situation. Although we were a little disappointed and surprised when Ricky decided to make a change in his ministry this past November 2007, we totally feel it is God's will. We have known Ricky, Loren Harris, and Greg Cook for many years, and we wish them well.
The main point we wanted to make clear is that our ministry continues and we have not stopped serving the Lord. Tess and I sing together in revivals, camp meetings, special Sundays, and even special singings. We are still recording, and we still just get around the piano and sing old-fashioned powerful Southern Gospel songs. Most of all, we see people get help from the Lord through our ministry. Also, the Lord called me to preach in 1986, and as long as I am healthy and alive, I will never stop preaching against sin and for the Savior. A ministry's value should never be measured by numbers or publicity; God is able and capable of doing the measuring because he is keeping the records. We are simply honored to have been blessed with so many opportunities to serve God and encourage our fellow Christians. We are anxiously looking forward to another great year of ministry starting in January and cannot wait to see what God has planned for 2008!
We feel God is using us more than ever before, and we ask you to pray for us and stay in touch. If you or your pastor is interested in making use of our ministry, please contact us at 770 363-9649. Also, you can keep up with what we are doing at http://www.scottthomasministries.com, and please call if you want to order any CDs.

Tim McKeithen Resumes Music Ministry
NASHVILLE, TN-- Nashville, TN (Press Release) Tim McKeithen is no stranger to the audiences of Southern Gospel Music. He performed full-time for 35 years, two years with the original Gospel Keys, seven and a half years with his family, The Hemphills, and over twenty five years with his own family group, the McKeithens. Upon Doctors orders in December 2000, Tim retired to let his voice rest and heal.In 2003, Tim received a clean bill of health from his vocal Doctor. About the same time, he was invited to tour in Israel, which was a lifelong dream come true. There he performed concerts with the Hemphills for the Department of Israel Tourism and also in churches.
Tim's family has always been involved in gospel music. His wife, Dixie, works as an agent for the Beckie Simmons Agency. His daughter, Angelina travels with her group Angelina and Route 77. Tim decided that if he ever ministered through song again it had to be God, and a request would come in. Tim was determined that it would be at the direction of a "higher authority"! “Garth has done such a great job on this new recording even though this was his first time in the studio,” mentioned Board. “He sounds like he has been recording for years.”

Greg Cook and Loren Harris Join Ricky Atkinson and Compassion
Ricky Atkinson and Compassion announces the departure of Scott and Tessa Thomas. After much prayer and many discussions, RAC has decided to take a different path of ministry. Due to the great demand for Ricky's solo dates and scheduling conflicts, we have all agreed it would be better if we pursued our ministry goals separately. We will remain close friends and very supportive of each other's ministries." Ricky Atkinson states," I greatly appreciate Scott and Tessa and their willingness to help me in transition in 2007, and working with me over the last 7 months. They are my friends and I truly wish them well in the future."Joining Ricky on stage, the new line-up for Ricky Atkinson and Compassion will be Loren Harris (formerly of the Perrys and Wilburns) and Greg Cook (formerly of Tony Gore and Majesty and the Florida Boys), two of Southern Gospel Music's most individually talented singers, favorite personalities, and industry wide well known voices.
Ricky Atkinson, owner/manager of RAC states, "I am SO excited to have these two awesomely talented men join me for the RAC bookings... I don't need to go into how great they are... Most everyone who knows anything about southern gospel music, know these two guys are household names. They have their own unique style and sound, and also come with a huge radio following and exciting fan base."
Ricky adds, " I have numerous solo dates scheduled for 2008 and I am thankful God allows me to minister in a more personal environment. With the recent changes I have the opportunity to stage those major RAC dates with a tremendously powerful lineup and I am certainly blessed with two of the very best!" It is very important that RAC wants to be clear on the goals of this group and each individual situation involving these guys.
They all have first obligation and priority in their home churches as ministers of music, administrators, etc... so scheduling will be limited and very carefully observed. Family and church first, then singing is the way we feel it should be and thats the way we want it.
Booking will remain in house and can be scheduled by contacting the RAC office phones found at the website or email @ http://www.rickyatkinson.com
