Gordon Mote Guests on Rick and Bubba Morning Show Sept 3rd
Singer/pianist Gordon Mote will be renewing old acquaintances when he guests on the nationally-syndicated Rick and Bubba morning show Wednesday, September 3rd. Gordon will appear during drive time, from 8:06 to 9:00 am ET/7:06-8:00 am CT, on the enormously popular show, which is syndicated from WZZK, Birmingham, Alabama to more than 60 radio stations nationwide.Gordon, a native of Alabama, knew both broadcasters in Jacksonville, AL, and even worked for Bubba (aka Bill Bussey) at a Christian radio station he owned. “We’ve stayed in touch throughout the years,” Gordon said. “They maintain a strong Christian faith and have always been interested in my career. I even helped them book Porter Wagoner on the show once.”
Since Gordon does a mean imitation of his late friend and Opry legend, he plans to entertain listeners with not only Porter, but his other voices as well. “Anything to get a laugh,” Gordon pointed out. “Since their audience is primarily secular, the more joy I can show, the more attractive this music will seem to the listeners. This is a huge honor for me.” The twosome will also play Gordon’s chart single, “Wake Up Dancin’,” which has been released to country as well as Christian radio. The single is from his latest Spring Hill/RSI Music Group CD, Don’t Let Me Miss The Glory.
“I’m grateful to the great team of people I have supporting my career for making this happen,” Gordon concluded. The duo’s website http://www.rickandbubba.com has a listing of stations nationwide that syndicate the show, and the show is streamed live on their site from 6 to 10 am weekdays. The 7-8 hour, during which Gordon will appear, is the only hour carried by all stations.
Gordon resumes touring with the Gaither Homecoming Tour, of which he is a popular solo artist and pianist, next month.

Steven Hickinbotham Joins Tmbq As Lead Vocalist
Little Rock, AR – Change is never easy, and it seems just when you get the bus pointed in the right direction, change is right around the corner. The Melody Boys Quartet announces Steven Hickinbotham has come on board as lead vocalist. Steven will be filling the position that is being vacated by Terry Robertson.Terry has decided to come off the road. The Melody Boys Quartet will miss his beautiful, resonate voice. Terry is as fine a Christian man as you will find. The Quartet’s increase in singing dates will cause him to be away from his home church (where he serves as a deacon) more than he wishes. That, along with wanting to be a full-time grandfather to his new twin grandsons, led to this difficult decision.
Stephen is a native of Thayer, MO. He majored in vocal music during his college years in Nashville, TN. He has been a Christian since age five and began singing during high school and college. In recent years he has served in church music. Steven joined The Melody Boys Quartet August 24th in Smithville, TN. TMBQ wishes the best that God provides for Terry Robertson and family! They also want to welcome Steven Hickinbotham to The Melody Boys Quartet!

Colorful New Book By Southern Sound Qt Member Tells the Story of Jesus’ Life in Rhyme
FULTON, Ky. - "So often we remember only the people responsible for making history," writes author Barry Patrick. In an effort to shed light on the innkeeper who was present the night that Jesus was born in the manger, Patrick has written "Twas My Life Before Jesus: A Quest Behind the Scenes" (published by AuthorHouse)."Twas My Life Before Jesus" will call to mind memories of the famous poem which reads "Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse." Written as a long poem, Patrick's text has the same cadence and rhythm of the Christmas Eve classic. Patrick has taken his poem a step further, as it chronicles Jesus' life, death and resurrection through the eyes of the innkeeper. "This continuing story is based on the possibility that the innkeeper maintained a special interest in the child that left his town at a young age," he writes.
The reader is introduced to the innkeeper right away:
"Twas my life before Jesus and
there's so much to tell.
I worked as a clerk in a small
town hotel.
We had gotten so busy by the close
of the day,
That we filled all the rooms and
turned some away.
That's where I met Joseph, who
was troubled to find
I was adding the "no" to our
vacancy sign.
But my job was over, or so I had
thought
He brought his wife Mary and my
attention was caught.
Patrick intends for "Twas My Life Before Jesus" to help tie together Christmas and Easter. Colorful and easy-to-read, the book makes an ideal gift for adults and children alike.
Barry Patrick has always considered Christmas to be his favorite holiday. "This book is important to me because it promotes the only true meaning of Christmas leading into the only true meaning of Easter and Jesus," he says. "Twas My Life Before Jesus: A Quest Behind the Scenes" is his first book.

As always, the Lord’s plan prevailed and we are fortunate enough to sign this fantastic, spiritual group to an exclusive Revival Wind recording agreement.” Martin continued, “Because these guys know who they are singing about and because of their fantastic talent and energetic stage presence, Holy Destiny is a great addition to the Revival Wind artist line-up.”
Lance Driskell was quick to add a statement concerning the signing, “It is awesome to be part of a label that is ministry oriented, “that” is so refreshing. From the first time I talked to Marty and the staff at Revival Wind, it has been all about our ministry. When that is right, everything else will fall into place. We are excited to be a part of such a wonderful family.”

The Imperials Welcome Scott Allen and Perry Jones to Group

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame inductees The Imperials are proud to announce the addition of vocalists Scott Allen and Perry Jones to the group.
Scott and Perry are replacing longstanding members Shannon Smith and Jeremie Hudson as lead and tenor vocalists. Both Shannon and Jeremie resigned from the group to pursue jobs in church ministry.
Shannon Smith said, “While the guys in The Imperials didn't want me to leave, they have been supportive of me following the Lord in this direction, and I'm really grateful to them for that. It's been somewhat of a tough transition emotionally because the four of us have been like brothers over the past several years, and we've really come to love each other. I know that we'll remain friends but we're so used to being together all the time that this will take some getting used to for all of us! They have a great vision for the future and some great things are happening. I'm excited to see where the Lord leads them!”
Shannon has taken a church in Miami, Florida. He and his family have already moved there and are excited about their future there.
Jeremie Hudson has taken a position in a church in Alabama.
“I have loved my time in The Imperials for these nine years! I thank GOD, Armond Morales, all our fans, pastors and all the friends I made. I also want to say a huge thank you, and I'll miss you, to Jason, Ian and Shannon. We went through a lot together. I pray that we will remain close as we go in separate directions,” said Jeremie. “It was always my desire to see people's lives changed. I can only hope and pray that I have lived up to the calling that GOD placed on my life while in The Imperials. God bless you all!”
Scott Allen, the group’s new lead vocalist, has been filling in for Shannon since he announced his resignation last April. Allen spent time on the road with Mercy’s Mark before joining The Imperials.
Perry Jones replaces Jeremie Hudson on the tenor spot. Perry Jones most recently sang with up and coming trio Brothers Forever.
Jason Morales of The Imperials said, “While it is always a sad thing to see members of a group who are like family leave, Ian and I can’t help but have high expectations for the future of The Imperials. We are so excited to see where God is going to take this group as we enter a new chapter in The Imperials’ history.”
More information on the group’s new members will be updated on the The Imperials’ website shortly.
The Imperials’ latest single, “We’ve Got a Great Big Wonderful God”, recently became the group’s latest Top 20 hit. The song is the first Top 20 hit for the group from their latest critically-acclaimed and award-winning release, Back to the Roots. “We’ve Got a Great Big Wonderful God” came in at #16 for the upcoming August 2008 issue of the Singing News Top 80 chart.
