Beyond the Ashes - Breaking Through

AGM: Beyond The Ashes has been around a few years now and is having some nice success. Please introduce us to the group members.

Anthony Facello: Singing lead for BTA is Casey Rivers. Casey comes from Texas and now lives in the Nashville area. His voice and heart have been such an asset to Beyond The Ashes. He has a wonderful wife, Doni and two precious kiddo's that are almost 3 and 1. Casey has been a part of our ministry for a couple of years now and we look forward to many more years together.

Kellan Monroe is the most recent addition to BTA and he sings the baritone part. Kellan was born and raised in a small town of South Carolina. Kellan is only 20 years old and has had a lot of experience in gospel music. This is Kellan's first full-time group and he is loving it! Kellan brings so much talent to Beyond The Ashes.

There are so many people that are not on stage that an important part of what we do. Rob Estep, Dusty Wells, Sophia Davis and Adoration Agency, Rhonda Thompson, Wayne Haun, Kevin Ward, Crossroads and Donna Beauvauis.

I have been around gospel music for some time now and I still love it! God lead to start BTA almost 5 years ago and we have been traveling full-time for two years now. I am absolutely blown away at how God is opening doors on a daily basis. I feel extremely blessed.

Stylistically, you guys have gone several directions, what have you learned and where are you now?

You are absolutely correct. We did explore stylistically a bit, trying to figure out what would work for our ministry. We never forsaked Southern Gospel but we also wanted help expand the industry. Now we feel we are exactly where God wants us to be as far as style and appeal. Our new CD is very diverse in style but we believe the SG listener as well as the non SG listener will love it.

I just heard your new CD Treasures Unseen, and it is terrific. It may well be the best recoding you have done to date. What's behind the song selection and arrangements?

I would have to agree with you that this is the our best recording to date. Our producer Wayne Haun did a phenomenal job driving the direction of this CD. As we picked songs for this recording we wanted to have several elements such as, fun and reflectiveness. We feel that we have songs that will speak to hearts, that will help people feel encouraged and that will help change lives. We want to help make a difference in this world while doing great music.

You just won an award at the Absolutely Gospel Music Awards. Tell us about it and what it means to you.

Well I know it sounds cliche but awards are not why we do this however it is an extreme honor to receive the award from Absolutely Gospel Music Awards for Breakthrough Artist. We appreciate what Absolutelygospel.com does for our industry to further what group like ours do.

We were so surprised when they called our name that night of the awards. I cannot believe how God is blessing us.

Are there any new open doors that Beyond The Ashes are about to walk through?

We have so many things going on right now. We just recently signed with Vine Records and we are so excited to team up with this Dove award winning company. We will be doing some concert touring this year with some other artist that will be announced later. This is an exciting time for our ministry so we encourage people to keep up with us on our E-news at http://www.beyondtheashesonline.com.

How has God been moving when Beyond The Ashes takes the microphone?

God has done some great things in our concerts. We have seen lives changed. We have seen individuals come to our concerts that just prior to the concert they held a gun in their hands and were going to commit suicide and brought us the bullet. We have seen 70 and 80 year old people give their hearts to Christ and young kids asking Christ into their hearts. This is what it is all about for us.

What's the biggest mountain that you are climbing right now?

With the ever changing financial situations, faith based ministry's like our are feeling the effects. Even though it can be tough the thing we realize every week is that God does take care of His children even if it comes down to the last minute. We know that we are called to do this and He said that He would never leave us nor forsake us. If you are in ministry, hold on, know and trust that God IS in control and has an ultimate plan.

How can a Pastor or Promoter get in touch with you to bring you to their church of concert?
