For nearly a century, it has been proven in the field of Gospel music ministry that when family-oriented singing groups with strong Christian values assemble from their humble beginnings and commit their works unto the Lord, God can take their ministry to levels that they never dreamed they would experience. Such is the hope with upstart Memphis-based Southern Gospel trio, In The Vine. Gathering their experience and combining their efforts, these three young men are setting sail on a journey that is filled with promise, but most importantly, faith.
Baritone singer and group co-manager Joe Kitson has announced the official launch of In The Vine, a classic Gospel vocal trio that will push the limits of music and ministry. Best remembered from his years with the Dixie Melody Boys and Statement of Faith, Kitson has been blessed to serve in gospel music for four years. Along with Joe on this journey is his brother Kurtis Kitson, a newcomer to the scene, but a very gifted high tenor singer, who never fails to deliver songs with soul.
Joining forces with the Kitsons is lead singer / emcee Daniel Childs, who is already known for having done fill-in work with various groups in the industry. Childs' great-grandfather was Mr. Roy Blackwood, who began the original Blackwood Brothers Quartet in the year 1934. Having grown up around Gospel music, Daniel is thrilled to be working with his long time friends in this endeavor.
Joe and Daniel originally met while singing together with various quartets. The two developed a fast friendship and a vocal blend that has lasted for several years, as they have often discussed starting a group together. And now, it has become clear that the timing is right to embark upon a journey together that will be driven by friendship and commitment, and will be lead by the Lord.
In The Vine will be on the road in 2012 on a mission to see lives transformed by the healing power of Jesus Christ. The group's sound is expected to be a new, refreshing resilience that will be entertaining and appealing to listeners of all ages.
The group name is a reminder to the group members and to their fans to head the following Scripture verse:
“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.” – John 15:5
