There’s something special about the start of a new year. Something exciting! Like there are fresh possibilities on the horizon!
It’s the time when many of us will once again make New Year’s Resolutions that, prayerfully, we’ll be able to stick to, this time around.
This Year, I’ll…
1. Be more organized.
2. Exercise more.
3. Eat healthier foods.
4. Go to Starbuck’s a little less (well, maybe.)
5. Love deeper, give more and make a difference.
You get the picture.
It’s a chance to start again. To get “it” right. To try a little harder.
It’s a time for do-overs. To repair relationships that went a little amuck during the year. To show love where we forgot to show it in the past.
It’s the chance to live bigger, better and bolder!
It’s an opportunity to reflect on God’s blessings. To see all He’s brought us through in the last 12 months. A time for praise and thankfulness!
As I thought about this excitement I feel, I was reminded of the beginnings of our years.
The first days of Spring when the flowers begin to bloom. The beginning of Summer and days enjoyed outside, grilling out, ballgames, picnics and blue skies. Shopping for school supplies, to start the new school year. The first days of Fall, when the leaves begin to change. The beginning of Winter, that tells you Christmas is on the way. All, sweet beginnings.
I was also reminded of the promise found in Lamentations 3:22 & 23. God said His mercies are new EVERY MORNING! So, in reality, we have the opportunity to start fresh, EVERY DAY!
I believe God has great things in store for us and I can’t help but look forward with anticipation!
As I remember that I have a fresh start with God, every day, my motto for the next year, will be: This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it!
Be BLESSED, dear Friends and Happy New Year!
