With talent like the three young people in this new group, Southern Gospel is in great shape for the future. Not only does this group have some great harmony, but their song selection and song writing abilities are also fabulous.

The CD starts off with an upbeat number entitled “You Came Too Late.” These kids sing it with all of the enthusiasum that you would expect from a new young group. This one would make a good radio pick. “He Takes Control Of It All”, “I Will”, and “It Is Finished” are three songs that slow the pace down a bit, but show that this group can really express a song in ways that minister to the listener.

“I’m Excited”, “Child, Welcome Home”, and “God’s Still Got A People” all pick e pace back up and get your hands in that clapping and rejoicing mood. “What If Jesus Is Real” is an interesting cut as the gal singing does all three parts, and the message is very stimulating. “Lay My Burdens Down ”  is an interesting a capella song. In fact I’d say that it was even daring to try this song for an a capella number, but they pull it off, and it sounds great. My favorite song on the CD is “It’s Better”. Not only is the song radio worthy, but the message is one that we need to think about, since we tend to think that things aren’t as spiritual as they were in the “old” days.

The cover design is very nice and stylish. The only negative that I would have is that I searched the cover over and could not find the names of these fine young singers. I see the words to the songs, and who produced it, even who the vocal coach is, but not one of the singers names appear. Probably just an oversight, but something to think about next time. Don’t let that stop you from purchasing this CD, because they sound great.

The best song on this whole CD is cut #3 called I'm excited. The guy who sings this song is so awesome. I can see him as being the next Jason Crabb!

The leader of the group is Matthew Rankin. The lead singer on the song 'I'm excite' is Jimmy and he is no longer with the group but Matt and the others are a great group and devoted to singing the good news of the gospel.

Yeah, recently they just came to my church, with four members, and Matt gave me this CD along with an even older one he did solo when he was younger. They're both awesome. :D
