I did subscribe to the live feed, and for me, last night was quite good. There were a few technical issues along the way, but they seemed to be tweaking them as the program went along.
I can’t tell you how many people were viewing the live feed, and I would suspect several hundred, if not a couple thousand. Yet in the comment section, a relative few were describing their tech. issues. It started out with rather low volume, as I had my computer maxed out on volume but had to hold my laptop in my lap just to be able to hear it. By the end of the night, there was plenty of volume but it had been pushed until the highs and lows were somewhat distorted. I can deal with that, as long as I can hear them.
Last night, they were having horizontal, white, wavy lines that roll vertically up the screen. This continued most of the evening, only clearing up a few times. The staff replied to the concern saying it was traced to a ‘power’ problem in the building and rather than interrupt last night’s program, they would try and resolve the situation today.
While I had a successful connection with a favorable review of the live feed, there seemed to be others who could never get connected at all, or could hear the audio without seeing video. Still others could get audio, but have a very ‘jerky’ video or what appeared to be still pictures. I would contribute that though to their connection speed. It would definitely be something I would not attempt with dial-up. I tried that last year, and although I’m sure it worked as it was supposed to on the providers end, it didn’t work for me. It was more frustrating that enjoyment.
For a mere $10 per evening, it was well worth it. Having attended a number of times in the past, it was quite different than being there in person, but, I also would not have had the ability to see and be close to the performers than I could on camera.
Overall, a good experience and I am anxiously awaiting to see it all again this evening.
