Anyone subscribe to the live NQC internet feed?

I subscribed to the NQC internet feed for the first time this year and am very excited.  I tried to log on tonight (Sunday) to see the bonus concert with Legacy 5 and the Booth Brothers and could not log in.  Does anyone know if that concert was part of the package?  It seemed like their server couldn’t handle it because either I couldn’t get to the log-in page or once I did try to log in it simply froze up and never let me in.  I’m hoping that tonight’s concert was simply not part of the package and that tomorrow it will work flawlessly, but I just thought I’d check with anyone else who might be doing this or who did last year.  Thanks for your help.

I signed up for it.  I don’t think last night’s concert was supposed to be part of the package.  I thought it was really neat that they provided a link to a schedule for the evening concerts after I signed up.

I re-watched the 2007 highlights video on there yesterday afternoon, but when I did try to log in later last night, it wouldn’t come up.

I signed up for it but don’t believe it starts until tonight.  Only the main stage concerts Monday through Saturday are covered from my understanding.  At least that was the way it was last year.

It’s supposed to also provide any of the showcases that are in Freedom Hall, which will include Gaither/SSQ, Dino, Songwriters’ and Parade of Pianos showcases.  I’ll be there by then, but it would be great for those that aren’t going to be able to go to NQC at all.

I did not, but I enjoyed listening tonight from 5 - 9 EST through XM radio.

I did subscribe to the live feed, and for me, last night was quite good.  There were a few technical issues along the way, but they seemed to be tweaking them as the program went along.

I can’t tell you how many people were viewing the live feed, and I would suspect several hundred, if not a couple thousand.  Yet in the comment section, a relative few were describing their tech. issues.  It started out with rather low volume, as I had my computer maxed out on volume but had to hold my laptop in my lap just to be able to hear it.  By the end of the night, there was plenty of volume but it had been pushed until the highs and lows were somewhat distorted.  I can deal with that, as long as I can hear them.

Last night, they were having horizontal, white, wavy lines that roll vertically up the screen.  This continued most of the evening, only clearing up a few times.  The staff replied to the concern saying it was traced to a ‘power’ problem in the building and rather than interrupt last night’s program, they would try and resolve the situation today.

While I had a successful connection with a favorable review of the live feed, there seemed to be others who could never get connected at all, or could hear the audio without seeing video.  Still others could get audio, but have a very ‘jerky’ video or what appeared to be still pictures.  I would contribute that though to their connection speed.  It would definitely be something I would not attempt with dial-up.  I tried that last year, and although I’m sure it worked as it was supposed to on the providers end, it didn’t work for me.  It was more frustrating that enjoyment.

For a mere $10 per evening, it was well worth it.  Having attended a number of times in the past, it was quite different than being there in person, but, I also would not have had the ability to see and be close to the performers than I could on camera.

Overall, a good experience and I am anxiously awaiting to see it all again this evening.

Overall I thought the webcast was a definite improvement over last year.  There were a few glitches as were mentioned but nothing too distracting.  And considering the number of people probably logged in, I didn’t think it was bad.  It was definitely worth the money, to me.

I was not able to log in at all.  It kept telling me my username or password were incorrect.  That could only be if I mispelled them when I signed up.  They will not talk to anyone on the phone and have not answered my email.  Does anyone know where I can get help?

Did you try using the link for forgotten password?  They should send something to the e-mail you registered with.  (I’m assuming you got your original confirmation e-mail and responded to it. )

This is an example of people accepting lower standards because it is “gospel.” A secular program charging $10 would be expected to have all the bugs worked out before offering it for a fee.  Imagine paying for a pay per view football game and only getting sound or fuzzy lines.  It wouldn’t be acceptable.

I have a friend who had played secular music and did studio work before becoming a Christian.  He went in to the same studios to work on an gospel album.  H needed to correct a pass on part of a song.  The engineer said, “Man, that’s good enough for gospel.” We’re still accepting lower standards in our vendors, artists, agencies, etc. just because they are under the name “Christian.” Our standards should be higher because of that name, not lower.

Colossians 3:23-24 (New International Version) (23) Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, (24) since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Thanks Dinana, I finally heard back from them and they gave me the same information you did.  Thanks for responding...I enjoyed the concert last night.  All of my projects are put on hold this week while I listen to NQC every night.  It was wonderful.  I plan to be there next year.  Had to cancel this year but on my to do list for 2009.

Again, I viewed the webcast of the events last night.  The quality of the video was greatly improved over Monday night, and the audio was great.  I really have no complaints about my reception of the broadcast last night.
